Popular actor Rashami Desai is all set to debut with a Gujarati film on silver screen. When asked she says,”It is my first Gujarati film and I am really proud of it as it’s my mother tongue too, technically I have a different kind of attachment to it. I am actually from Mumbai, I didn’t know a lot of things about Gujarati people and the culture so I got to know a lot of things while doing this film.” Rashami’s debut film is titled Superstar.”I did Superstar because the script was very good and while doing the film I came to know that my language is bad and while conversing i do make a lot of grammatical errors, this was a self-discovery indeed. Superstar is a film where you see a life of an actor and his personal life not different than others. He is someone an icon for the nation and also takes care of the family. I am playing a normal girl with big dreams for whom her family is everything. Her world revolves around her family. This role is something I never ever played, in every scene there something you learn so if you miss out a scene you get disconnected form the flow of the film.” Superstar is inspired from a play and the story has been modified according to its need. Speaking on the feedback of the trailer Rashami says,”A lot of my colleagues are Gujarati and they have watched the trailer  and they have said it’s quite different and new. When you see it you see the quality and the feedback is very good so far.” Rashami also adds,”I was quite choosy and I am happy with my television work. As an actor yes you have to work hard so these are like brownie points for me.” Rashami feels Gujarati film industry has a long way to go and it will create wonders in coming years.
